Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification process that uses a partially permeable membrane to remove ions, unwanted molecules and larger particles from drinking water.
Osmosis is a special case of diffusion in which the molecules are water and the concentration gradient occurs across a semipermeable membrane. Reverse osmosis occurs when the water is moved across the membrane against the concentration gradient, from lower concentration to higher concentration.
And while reverse osmosis water filters will reduce a pretty wide spectrum of contaminants such as dissolved salts, Lead, Mercury, Calcium, Iron, Asbestos and Cysts, it will not remove some pesticides, solvents and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) including: Ions and metals such as Chlorine and Radon.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is often used to partially clean-up tap water to make it roughly 90% to 99% pure. De-ionization (DI) filters exchange positive hydrogen and negative hydroxyl molecules for positive and negative contaminant molecules in water.

An average RO purifier wastes approximately 3 litres of water for every 1 litre of purified water. That means only 25% of water is purified and 75% of water comes out as waste. The most convenient and effective utilization of the expelled RO water is using it for gardening. You can use the wastewater for gardening, the high nutrients and minerals in the water can help your plants bloom and grow. It also can be used to refill your swimming pool.
